Who We Are
Meet the Doctors
Paul Ettlinger, DC with PT privileges, is a Baltimore native who actually began his professional career not in medicine but in music, playing violin with the New World Symphony in Miami, Florida. After two years with the Symphony – and repetitive strain injuries from playing his instrument – Dr. Ettlinger turned his interests to health care and returned home to Baltimore. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from UMBC, followed by his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri. After working as an associate for several years, Dr. Ettlinger opened Health Quest in 1998.
Since then, he has received years of extensive continuing education to reinforce his clinical experience with a wide spectrum of patient conditions, including soft-tissue injuries, neuromusculoskeletal conditions, and lifestyle-related illnesses. His trademark is treating his patients as people, establishing a professional yet compassionate relationship with each. Most recently, he is completing certification as a whiplash and soft tissue injury specialist through the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
Dr. Ettlinger lives with his wife, two sons, and dogs in Pikesville and looks forward to continuing to treat the growing population in the area.
Sean Grady, DC with PT privileges, CFMP, DACNB, is a New York native who earned his bachelor’s degree from Logan College of Chiropractic and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College. He is also a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and holds the prestigious diplomate from the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB). As a Functional Neurologist, Dr. Grady provides, in simple terms, brain rehabilitation for those suffering from a variety of neurological conditions, including headaches, vertigo/dizziness, strokes, neuropathy, concussions, and mild traumatic brain injuries. He is also certified as a whiplash and soft tissue injury specialist through the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego and is pursuing dual fellowship certification in both concussion/MTBI and vestibular rehabilitation from the American College of Functional Neurology.
Dr. Grady moved to Baltimore with his wife and two daughters to begin his chiropractic career. He joined Health Quest in 2011 after treating patients for several years, including practicing in a clinic in Towson, Maryland. Dr. Grady looks forward to establishing himself further in the Baltimore community and enjoying crab feasts!
Sarah Barbee, DC with PT privileges, was born and raised in Maryland, attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in Catonsville, where she earned her bachelor's degree in biological sciences in 2006.
Following in her grandfather’s footsteps, Dr. Barbee knew chiropractic was where she had to be. After graduating with honors from New York Chiropractic College (a classmate of Dr. Grady’s), she came back to her roots here in Baltimore. She is a licensed chiropractor with physical therapy privileges in the State of Maryland, joining Health Quest in 2015 after treating patients for five years at a practice on the other side of town.
Dr. Barbee has had extensive continuing education about various treatment techniques, as well as nutrition and other holistic treatments. She is also certified as a whiplash and soft tissue injury specialist through the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego.
She brings with her a love of helping patients, focusing on the person rather than the condition, and treating each patient like family. She enjoys living in Baltimore, running, and doing yoga in her spare time.
Ryan Cappelletti, DC with PT privileges, CCSP, grew up in Northeast Baltimore and attended Calvert Hall High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1989 and then his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1991 from National College of Chiropractic. He has received certification as a whiplash and soft tissue injury specialist through the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego and is a certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner®.
Dr. Cappelletti has established a stellar reputation for exceptional care and concern for patients in the Baltimore metro area, treating patients as an associate doctor in several clinics as well as in his own practice for nine years in Bel Air. He brings his expertise in chiropractic, with an emphasis on rehabilitation, to the Health Quest team, and plays a critical role in the expansion of our practice by managing our Towson/Lutherville office.
Dr. Cappelletti enjoys weightlifting, tennis, and golf—basically any sport with a ball. Plus, he and his wife are active in their church and stay very busy raising eight (yes, eight) children, so he's got his hands full when he leaves the office, too!
Katharine Sparrazza, DC with PT privileges, is a transplant from Rochester, New York, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and was a competitive cheerleader at the University of Buffalo. Wanting to further her education, she went on to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College. Dr. Sparrazza is also certified in trigger point dry needling, fascia movement taping (Rocktape), and whole foods nutrition. She adds to her experience with tenure as a personal trainer and working with strength and conditioning coaches.
Dr. Sparrazza moved to Baltimore in the winter of 2016 with her fiancé, who is also a chiropractor and from the area. After working as an associate for a practice in White Marsh, Dr. Sparrazza has found a better fit with Health Quest, where she can treat a wide variety of patients using the full range of her rehab expertise.
In her spare time, Dr. Sparrazza likes to work out, knit (yes, knit), travel when possible, and spend time with family and friends. She is excited about getting to know the area and becoming a strong member of the Health Quest team.
Susan DeMaille, DC with PT privileges, is a Pennsylvania native with her Bachelors Degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She began practicing more than 20 years ago after graduating with honors from New York Chiropractic College. Dr. DeMaille has over 20 years of experience working in a multidisciplinary setting - integrating care with primary care physicians, neurologists, orthopedists and other specialties. Much of that time was spent running her own practices in both New York and Frederick, Maryland, where she has been an active member of the community while raising her two sons.
Now that her boys are off to college, Dr. DeMaille has relocated back to the Baltimore area to run our White Marsh office. That includes pursuing continuing education to be a certified whiplash and soft tissue injury specialist through the Whiplash Injury Biomechanics and Traumatology program at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. She looks forward to continue developing Health Quest's White Marsh branch and embedding herself into that part of the community as well.
Riley Barrett, DC with PT privileges, is a 2014 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus, where he proudly earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with Magna Cum Laude honors. During his time at Palmer he spent uncountable hours mastering his craft through learning and practicing many of today’s most popular adjusting techniques, and developing skills and interest in the fields of rehabilitation and soft tissue therapy. Dr. Barret also holds his Bachelor’s degrees in Preventive and Rehabilitative Health Fitness and Exercise Physiology.
Dr. Barrett, his wife, and their two dogs, made the move to Baltimore, MD where he began his chiropractic career as an associate at Spector Chiropractic, the longest running chiropractic office in Maryland. Three years later, he purchased Spector's Federal Hill office and launched CHIROWORx Spine & Rehab in its place. One year later, the Barretts teamed up with Health Quest to expand opportunities around the metro area for both practices. Today, Dr. Barrett and his family currently reside in the South Baltimore Community of Locust Point, where he enjoys playing golf, watching the O’s, reading, traveling, and frequenting all of the local food and drink stops around the city. If you see him out and about, never hesitate to say hello!
